Membership

Annual membership fees, donations of cash and materials, contribution of volunteer labour, and overall general support ensures the continued maintenance and operation of each site. Specifically, cash contributions help offset insurance and utility costs, operational costs, and maintenance expenses related to the continued upkeep of each site location. They also provide funds for the Society to continue to issue its popular Canora Chronicle newsletter, and run our educational and community programming.

Membership in the Canadian Northern Society is divided into two classes: full and associate.

Full membership dues are $20 per year, and include: voting priviledges at society meetings, subscription to The Canora Chronicle, society newsletter published three times per year and invitations to society functions at all locations such as pot-luck suppers and Dominion Day celebrations.

Associate membership dues are $10 per year, and include: subscription to The Canora Chronicle, society newsletter published three times per year and invitations to society functions at all locations. And of course, with either class of membership, you get the satisfaction of knowing you are helping preserve the Dominion’s railway history for future generations.
